Itinerary

Day 1: Arctic Snowshoeing, Polar Bear Adventure and Aurora Photography Trip

09-12:00. Total of 3h, 1h drive & back, 45m to 1h Snowshoeing, 45m to 1h of BBQ.

Let’s start the exploration of Arctic Circle Wildness on a guided tour. About half an hour drive from Rovaniemi to the North. Put Snowshoes on and following the hike instructions given by your guide who will take you into the Arctic nature on the instructed trails. Feel the sounds of walking on the top of deep snow-covered forest and enjoy Lappish BBQ at a traditional LAAVU after that.

12-16:00 Total of 4h including travel time

After, our guide will transfer you to the Zoo, about 1h drive there & You will freely visit the Arctic wild Ranua Zoo on your own and experience the arctic nature deeply including chances to see those Arctic wild animals (about 1.5h visit & Outdoor). Ranua Zoo was opened in 1983, about 50 different species and over 150 individuals together. Most representative animals are Polar bear, Arctic fox, moose, snowy owl and so much more to be discovered by yourself.

Your guide will drive you to the highest-chance spots for viewing aurora as well as explain to you on spot related aurora knowledge or skills on how to set up your camera or smart phones for taking nice pictures. Day 2: Arctic Husky Adventure(7-10km), Aurora Hunting at the Best Spots (2 spots)

Daytime: Total of 2.5h include travel time

Join us for visiting a local husky farm on a guided tour. Meet at our office and drive you to a local husky farm, where you will experience a real “Fast & Furious “by taking the Husky Sleigh (45 min to 1 hour Husky safari, 7-10km) and self-driving in the Arctic forest, then a short break in wildness for taking beautiful pictures (possibility to switch the driver). After hear Husky stories while enjoying local berry drink & cookies in a Kota. Driving instructions will be given in the beginning of the excursion, so no previous experience of dog sledding is needed.

20-23:30, Total of 3.5h, including travel time

Join for this aurora hunting on a guided tour in Rovaniemi. We pick up you & drive all the way outside of the town to the North, where passing Santa Village and Arctic Circle. We stop at two high-chances observation spots nearby Arctic lake & forest, as well a big open sky with great visibility to see beautiful Aurora! Your guide explains you magic Aurora phenomenon and share skills for setting up smart phone to take nice photos when it appears. Meanwhile, berry tea is served while viewing such beautiful Arctic wild nature! Kindly notice: Winter clothing (no boots, hats or gloves) can be picked up from the office: Rovakatu 25, 96200 Rovaniemi at 19:30pm by yourself.

Day 3: Santa Claus Village & Arctic Circle, Visit Ice Hotel in the Wildness

Daytime: 08:30-12:30 Total of 4h include travel time & freely visit

We will pick up you and transfer you to Santa’s Village, where a great place to enjoy everything by yourself. Your guide will introduce you about Santa Claus Village, things to do and the meeting point.

14:30-16:30 Total of 2h

Our guide will pick you up from 14:30 and then drive you to one of the most amazing snow hotels in the world: Arctic Snow Hotel, where you could visit the snow structures, spectacular ice sculptures, beautiful ice rooms, ice restaurant, ice bar and ice Chapel (45m to 1h freely visit). After you will be dropped off to either hotel or the city center as you like.
